Batman Beats Spidy
Batman and Spider-Man are two iconic Heroes who share much in common.
Both characters were gifted with their respective powers. Spider-Man by a radioactive spider bite and Batman by the legacy of his family’s fortune.
Well, I have an answer for that. Read my take on the fight
below.
Shrouded in shadow, deep in an alley, Batman takes a knee to
retrieve a muddied newspaper from the damp pavement. The headline, “Webhead
Strikes Again” emblazoned on the front page. A clump of web strikes the brick
and mortar just 12 stories above him. It’s Spider-Man. Without an afterthought,
the grappling hook takes to the air and clings to an imperfection somewhere
near the top of the brownstone apartment building.
The black
blur, flies into the black night as a black fist cocks to attack a potentially
superior opponent. “No holding back” Batman thinks. He hears only a whisper, “My
spidey sense.”
In an
instant Spider-Man readies to correct his trajectory to avoid the blow. He
releases the web he’d spun a moment ago and with a flick of his wrist spits a
fresh web toward the opposite building in the star lit alley. Hurtling toward
the black mass that is Batman he tugs on his new web to avoid the impending
blow. Nothing.
“Checkmate”
Roars the Batman as his fist collides like a dump truck with Spider-Man’s chest,
rocketing him to the pavement below with the force of an atomic bomb.
The Dark
Knight lightens upon the ground like a bee on a summer flower; a black summer
flower. “What’s your problem big guy?” the comical tone absent from Spider-Man’s
voice as he flips to his feet from the crumbled asphalt.
A rushing
wind steels through the narrow alley sprinkling oil on Spider-Man’s mask
blinding him. He runs his hand down the wall beside him. “You greased the entire wall. I guess you were expecting me.” He removes his mask and with haste,
coats his face with the grease from the wall beside him.
The two opponents glare at each other, waiting for the other to make a move.
